Author and producer Erica Armstrong Dunbar, the acting professor of African American Studies at Emory University, will unpack the life of Ona Judge, a runaway slave from the house of George and Martha Washington. Judge’s flight and fight are reminders that the exploration of slavery and freedom in the early republic leads all the way to the president’s house.

This event will be held in the James & Betty Hall Theatre in Dutchess Hall. Visitors should park in Lot D (GPS: 90 Cottage Road, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12601).
