A site-specific sound art installation, Joseph Bertolozzi composed music by gathering sounds from the surfaces of the Mid-Hudson Bridge, making the bridge itself the world's biggest musical instrument. The installation consists of two components: (1) audio speakers mounted at two listening stations on the suspension bridge's towers playing Bertolozzi's original "Bridge Music" on demand at the touch of a button; and (2) an FM stereo transmission playing 24 hours a day on 95.3-FM within the parks surrounding the bridge. Bertolozzi composed similar music at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
