Fourth of July Fireworks and Celebrations in Dutchess County

Dutchess County is commemorating America's 250th birthday with a bang in 2026! The rockets' red glare will be on full display at fireworks shows and celebrations across the county this Fourth of July. Read on for a list of family-friendly Independence Day events around which you can plan an unforgettable Hudson Valley getaway.

Fourth of July Fireworks 

• Heritage Financial Park, Wappingers Falls (July 2, 3 and 4, 2026): Why have only one fireworks display when you can enjoy three consecutive nights of sky-high excitement? After all, a celebration like this only comes around once every 250 years. That's what the Hudson Valley Renegades minor-league baseball team had in mind when they expanded their customary July Fourth extravaganza to three nights for 2026. Settle in and enjoy the Renegades games each night against the Wilmington Blue Rocks starting at 7:05 p.m., and stick around for the America250 MEGA Fireworks Show after the game. Plus, the Renegades are offering a special America250 MEGA Fireworks Barbecue Package, which includes an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring burgers, hot dogs, mac-and-cheese, salad, chips, cookies, Pepsi products, and water. • Memorial Park, Beacon (July 3, 2026): The City of Beacon presents its annual fireworks show, which will begin as soon as it gets dark. Parking is limited, so you may want to consider walking or biking to the park. Be sure to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. Click here for details.

• Walkway Over the Hudson, Poughkeepsie (July 4, 2026): Witness the City of Poughkeepsie’s annual fireworks show with an unobstructed view from 212 feet above the river at the Walkway Over the Hudson. The Walkway will close to the public in the afternoon that day and reopen at 6 p.m. for those with valid tickets to the event. Space is limited. This event sells out every year. • Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum, Poughkeepsie (July 4, 2026): Enjoy front-row viewing of the City of Poughkeepsie fireworks along the Hudson River, reserved onsite parking and a covered picnic area (with purchase of a picnic pass), along with fun inside the Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum, which will open that day at 7 p.m. Price is per car, so pack up the family and friends and come down to the Poughkeepsie Waterfront! • Four Brothers Drive-In Theatre, Amenia (July 4, 2026): For a one-of-a-kind Fourth of July experience, head to Four Brothers Drive-In for its annual movie double-feature with fireworks in between the two shows. Stay tuned for updates on what films will be showing that night. Arrive early and enjoy live music along with delicious food and drinks from the Grand Shack. Play some mini-golf and get cozy by the fire pit. Click here to reserve tickets. • Stanford Recreation Park (July 4, 2026): Stanford's celebration of America's 250th birthday continues with this fireworks display, which can be viewed from Stanford's Recreation Park, as well as the Town Hall.

• Hopewell Recreation Park, Hopewell Junction (July 11, 2026): The Town of East Fishkill's America250 Celebration features an action-packed day of performances and historical demonstrations culminating with a fireworks display. Festivities begin at 12 p.m. and will include a performance by the Young Colonials Fife & Drum Corps, the firing of an authentic Revolutionary War cannon and so much more. As the sun sets, celebrate with Adam and the Newhearts performing all your rock n' roll favorites from the '50s and '60s, followed by the fireworks show. Free admission. Events and Celebrations

Saturday, July 4

• Independence Day Hike on Mount Beacon (Beacon): Local historian Chris Cring leads this hike up Mount Beacon to the Daughters of the Revolution monument at the summit. Participants will step off at 8:30 a.m. from the Scenic Hudson parking lot. The 1.2-mile hike is challenging but rewarding, offering panoramic views of the Hudson Valley. Along the way, Cring will discuss the history of the mountain and its significance in the Revolutionary War. Click here to learn more.

• Annual Fourth of July Reading of the Declaration of Independence (Fishkill): Join the Village of Fishkill for its annual Fourth of July reading of the Declaration of Independence on the steps of the Village Hall starting at 11 a.m. This event is free and open to the public. As an added bonus,enjoy a musical performance by Alex Prizgintas titled "America: Songs of Protest, Patriotism & Praise." Click here for updates.

• Town of Hyde Park Independence Day Parade: The theme of this year's parade will be "Celebrating 250 Years of the United States of America." The parade will step off at 10 a.m. and march north on Route 9 from Roosevelt Cinemas toward Town Hall. Click here for updates. 

• Independence Day at Clermont (Germantown): Learn what life was like at the start of the Revolutionary War for the people at the Livingston family estate at Clermont State Historic Site. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. on the Arryl Lawn. Watch reenactors portray the daily lives of these colonists through cooking, woodworking, blacksmithing, farming and more. Enjoy the songs and stories of Thomas Hooker Hanford. Hear readings of Frederick Douglass’ famous speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” Enjoy delicious hot food from At First Bite and ice cream from Fortunes. The event will conclude with a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Admission is $15 per car at the gate, cash only. Click here for details. 


• July 4 BBQ at Troutbeck (Amenia): Celebrate the holiday with a barbecue feast that simply can't be beat in Troutbeck's Pole Barn beginning at 12 p.m. Enjoy a generous selection of seasonal fare, much of which will be prepared in Troutbeck's woodfire-powered mobile kitchen. • Denning's Point Distillery's Cannons & Cocktails (Veterans Memorial Building, Beacon): Enjoy an evening of spirited discussion, bold history, and craft cocktails with host Scott Ramsey and military historian Colonel Sean Sculley, who will discuss the Declaration of Independence in this round of Cannons & Cocktails.
